Handyman Henry

This great fun stamp is from C.C.Designs and is called Handyman Henry I coloured him up with spectrum noir tri-blend markers. I used up scraps of card and patterned paper that I had saved for this card. I think the yellow check paper from Time For Tea's Rainbow brights paper pack really works well with this guy :)

I hand drew some little screws onto the black card strips using a white gel pen and then used a black liner pen to edge around the patterned paper and the card blank. The sentiment comes in the stamp set.

I am entering this card for the following challenges:

International art and soul - Masculine

The sisterhood of snarky stampers - Masculine

Colour crazy challenge - Anything Goes

Thank you for taking the time to look at my blog.

Crafty Purple Frog Sneak Peek Day 4

This is the last day of the sneak peeks and the last day that you can join the Instagram hop to try and win the "All Ears" stamp set. Today we are showing off the "Party Mouse" stamp set.

This adorable little mouse is all set to party with a cakes, candles and party hat.

For my first make today I stamped a whole load of cakes out and coloured them up with Spectrum noir tri-blend pens before fussy cutting them out. Next I used Heffy Doodle memo tape to mask off the bottom of a piece of card so I could ink it up in Antique linen distress ink. Then I moved the same piece of memo tape so it was now covering where I had just inked and inked the top part with Tumbled glass distress ink. To finish the back ground I stamped the Happy Birthday from the new Happy Birthday Everyone stamp set across the middle and layered it on some black before sticking it all on my card blank.
I put the cakes all over it coloured my little mouse and gave him the party hat which of course I made sparkly with nuvo drops. I stuck my mouse in the middle of the card on some foam pads so he stands out a bit and then added a load of Nuvo drops to make the background really sparkle :)

I am entering this card for the following challenges:

The paper shelter - A birthday card

Penny's paper crafting challenge - Anything goes with paper

Crafty sentiments - Anything goes

Lemon shortbread - Anything goes

If you have been checking out my blog for the rest of the week you may have noticed that I am a little addicted to making these stamps into little charms so of course I had to make some mouse earrings :D

Again I used Kraftin' Kimmie Hybrid ink to stamp the image on the textured side of the frosted shrink plastic before colouring it with my Spectrum noir tri-blend pens. I then made a hole above the mouse and cut the whole image out going around the hole so when I used my Wow! heat gun to shrink it they have a way to attach them to the chain.

I added a few little heart charms from my stash and I think that is enough for these. I wanted the mouse to be the main focus :)

I am entering these earrings for the following challenges:

The house that stamps built - Anything goes

Crafty creations - Anything goes

Through the craft room door - Anything goes

Unicorn challenge - Include an animal

For day 2 I have the "Foxy" stamp set to show you :) The DT and GDT have also done some amazing things with this stamp set so if you want to see more please check out their links which you can find on the main Crafty Purple Frog Shop Blog.
Don't forget there is also the Instagram hop going on which you can join for the chance to win the "All Ears" stamp set so why not join it and get a whole load of inspiration.

For my card today I wanted to keep it clean and simple. I stamped out the fox and then coloured him up with my spectrum noir tri-blend pens. I cut him out and then cut a strip of white card to stamp the grass from the stamp set on using twisted citron and mowed lawn distress ink.

I stamped the sentiment from the "Foxy" stamp set before layering it on some black card and sticking it to the middle of the card blank. I put foam pads on the fox so he stands out from the card and gives a bit of depth.

Crafty Purple Frog New release day 1

I am really excited to be able to show you the brand new "All ears" stamp set. I had so much fun creating with this hare. And make sure you check out the Crafty purple frog Instagram for a little Instagram hop that is running until Thursday. You could win this stamp set by joining in and you get to see loads of inspiration as well :)

If you love all things Crafty Purple Frog and want to grab the whole release at a bargain price there are a limited number of buy it all bundles available now to pre-order right HERE. Be quick though as they will sell fast!

Now onto my makes for today. I thought I would have a go at some jewellery making. I used to make lots of jewellery but haven't had a go for a while. I have to say I really enjoyed the process. I used some shrink plastic to turn my stamped images into little charms.

To do this I stamped them onto some frosted shrink plastic using Kraftin' Kimmies hybrid ink. The hybrid ink meant that I could then colour using my alcohol markers. When you shrink the image with your heat gun the colour intensifies so I stuck to the lighter shades of my tri-blends when I coloured up these hares. I used scissors to cut around the images once I had given them a little bit of time to dry. Make sure you leave some extra plastic where you want to have a hole for a jewellery fixing to go. For these I left extra space at the top of one of it's ears and made a hole with scissors but you could also use a hole punch to make your hole. the hole will shrink along with the rest of the image when heated so make it a decent size.

Once I had my little charms I then went through my bead collection laying the beads out on a bead mat until I was happy with the look. I ended up with the necklace and earing set :D

I hope you can join our hop and that we can inspire you :)

I am entering this jewellery for the following challenges:

Gem of a challenge - Anything goes

I have also made a card Using the awesome Hare and used the little stamps that come with the set to make my own patterned paper.

I just love the way these glasses look and they will also fit the other animals in this release as well as the Badger from "The sett" stamp set. There are also a couple of tiny stamps in this set to be able to give the Hare some great eye lashes like I have here. To finish off I covered the lenses in glossy accents.

I am entering this card for the following challenges:
Corrosive challenge - Anything goes
Dragonfly dreams - Feature a creature
Avenue 613 - In the garden

How are you doing friend?

I really love playing with this badger from Crafty Purple Frogs The Sett stamp set and cropping it to just his face and neck gave me this idea. The sentiment is from the Heffy Doddle Close at heart sentiment set.  For the back ground I masked off the bottom of the card and then used the Heffy Doodle Circles of life stencil, Time for Tea beautiful blender brushes and distress oxide ink to add some interest and colour to the back ground. I coloured the badger with spectrum noir tri-blend pens and put him on some foam pads to give a bit of dimension.

This was such a quick and fun card to make. I hope you are all OK and having a good week so far?

This pretty little fairy is from the new Sweet November Stamps release. There is also an Insta hop going on this weekend where you can win her and the rest of the release by hopping along.

I have coloured this little cutie Odette with spectrum noir tri-blend markers and used the sentiment that comes with her. I then did some ink splattering over the background using Altenew Pinkalicious and Fresh lemon crisp dye inks before adding just a touch of texture and sparkle with some Nuvo drops. I wanted to keep this little 4x4 card quite CAS to really show her off :)

3 tone colour map for Crafty Purple Frogs Swan

Good morning :D
I am here again with another 3 tone colour map for you. This time it is for the swan from the "Spread your wings" stamp set. Again all you nee is 3 tones of the colour you would like to make your swan and then you can follow this little guide to get it all coloured up :)
For this example I used Spectrum noir tri-blend pens as each pen has the 3 blends in it for you making it so simple to get a great blend.

I also made a little video to show you me using the tone map to colour a black swan.

Here is an example of a card I made using my coloured swans. I mirror stamped the black swan using the mirror stamping mat so I could pair them up and used the "Written with love" back ground stamp on the circle to give it a bit of texture. The sentiment is from the "Just because" stamp set.

I hope you can find this useful. Thank you for looking.

I am entering this card for the following challenges:
Corrosive challenge - Anything goes

Fancy a cuppa?

This is the second sneak peek of the first ever release by Crafty Purple Frog. This adorable badger is part of a stamp set called "The Sett" a bit of a pun as badgers live in setts. There is also a sentiment set to coordinate with the bargers call "Sentiment Sett" There are more accessories with this badger so you can really go to town dressing it up and having fun :D
For my background I used some clear Wow! embossing powder to do an ink resist technique on white paper. I used beautiful blender brushes and distress ink then the tiny heart that is in the Sentiment Sett with the same colour distress ink to give it a soft tone on tone feel. I coloured the badger with spectrum noir tri blends.

The new release will all be available in the shop from Friday the 19th of Feb. I hope you are enjoying these little sneak peeks :D

I am spreading my wings :D

There is something very exciting happening at Crafty Purple Frog. We are making our own line of stamps and stencils!!! I am so happy to finally be bringing my drawings to life in some stamp sets that are themed around the amazing wildlife we have here in the UK.

This is the first sneak peek of one of the stamp sets and a stencil that is coming up. This stamp set is called "Spread your wings" set features a beautiful swan with some extras and sentiments to coordinate with it. The stencil is called "Splash" and has a lot of water droplet shapes radiating out. For this card I moved the stencil a few times to get a layered effect.

I made this card for my boyfriend on valentines day. He has made it possible for me to do my crafting full time and actually make a business out of it. The first ever Crafty Purple Frog release will be available on Friday the 19th of Feb.

I coloured my swan with Spectrum Noir Tri Blend Markers, used Distress inks for the stencilling and then added a few Nuvo drops for a touch of sparkle and texture.

I hope you like what you see. Stay tuned for more :D

Time for a me day I think

I am taking some time out today to be able to do some crafting. It has snowed a little bit here again but not settled and the rain that followed it has insured that there is no white left to be seen.

I am still loving these snow men from the very talented Amy Young of Sweet November Stamps though. They really do bring a smile to my face :)

I have teamed this one from the Drop it like it's cold stamp set with a die called It's Your Day from Time for tea designs. I also used one of the new Time for Tea stencils in the back ground to add a few stars to distress my inking. The stencil is called Falling Stars and I used Squeezed Lemonade distress ink along with a beautiful blender brush to colour up the white paper.

As normal for me I have finished the card by adding some sparkle and texture with some Nuvo drops. And I added the little raccoon on to the card with an action wobble just to give an extra fun element to it :D

I am entering this card for the following challenges:

Cardz 4 Guyz - Let it snow

Crafty Sentiments - Anything Goes

Shopping Your Stash - What's New With You? (use your new stash)

Through the Craftroom Door - Anything Goes

Miss you

This Cosy Winter stamp set from Time for Tea Designs has so many adorable little critters that really do work for far more than just Christmas. I have coloured up this super cute bear with Spectrum noir tri-blend markers and done a very simple bit of stenciling in the background using just the wilted violet distress ink, a Time for Tea Designs Beautiful Blender Brush and the Time for Tea Designs Cosy Sweater stencil. I let it fade out and just made it a bit darker where I wanted to put the bear. As a finishing touch I used the speech bubbles stamps and dies to add this little sentiment. The speech bubbles set are just so versatile. There are sentiments for most occasions you can think of so I feel its a real staple to have in your stash.

If you haven't already seen Time For Tea Designs now also have a new set of Beautiful Blender Brushes! There is a set of 5 brushes in rainbow colours. They are not only beautiful to look at but it is very handy to know easily what colour ink you are using them for :)

Frosty Feet

Well the snow has turned to ice here now which is not as much fun so I would love it to snow again :D For this card I have used the brand new Frosty Feet stamp set by Sweet November Stamps. You can grab in now in either the Sweet November shop or the Crafty Purple Frog store. If you buy both the new snowmen stamp sets then you can also get the digi sentiment set that has been made to work with them for free!!

I did some ink blending in the background using distress inks and the Time For Tea Designs beautiful blender brushes. I also added a bit of texture to the blue by spraying a bit of water over it then I tore a piece of white paper for the snow drift my snowmen are standing on. I coloured the snow men with Spectrum noir tri-blend markers and finished the whole thing off with the brilliant huge "Let it snow" die from Time for Tea designs and scattering around some sparkly nuvo drops.

I am entering this card for the following challenges:

Crafters Castle - Anything Goes

Crafty Friends - Anything Goes

Drop it like it's cold

I am so excited to announce this new release from the amazing Sweet November. Amy Young is so clever with her art and I feel very lucky to be the only other store to stock her stamps. This release is another 2 stamps sets that have a lot of fun snow people dancing and some little critter friends with them. There is also a digi sentiment set to go with them and while stocks last if you buy both stamp sets from the Crafty Purple Frog store I will send you the sentiment set for free!

This release could not have been better timed for me as yesterday we had a load of snow here and I made my own snowman in one of the fields :D

I am sure you aren't here for a weather update though so here is my first card that I have to show you for these sets. I used the Drop it like it's cold stamp set and one of the digi sentiments. Of course the snowman had to have an action wobble so he can actually twerk.

I coloured him with Spectrum noir tri-blends and inked up the ground with some Distress ink. For the background I used one of the new Time For Tea Designs stencils called Nordic Star with some more Distress ink and inked through the stencil with the Time For Tea Designs beautiful blender brushes. To finish it off I have added some sparkle with double sided tape and then poured some Wow! Hammerhead shark earth glitter on to the tape. This glitter is brilliant as it is environmentally friendly! It is made from a plant rather than plastic.

If you like to craft and like what is for offer in the Crafty Purple Frog Shop then why not join the new FB page? I have just set it up and would love to make a nice community from around the world of crafters helping, inspiring and supporting each other. If you want to join us please follow THIS LINK

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone! This is it we are in the first proper week of this new year. It's so exciting. I always like new year as its like a clean slate. 2020 taught me a lot though, I am lucky as there are some great people in my life that really made a very tough year a lot better. That includes all of you reading this. Thank you for all of your love and support for my creating. I am so happy to be on this DT. So this card is for you as well as them :D

For this card I have used the brand new Cosy Winter stamp set and combined it with a sentiment from the Winter Wonderland Sentiment Card set.

The background is cut from a piece of the Winter Wonderland 6x6 paper and then I layered the trees from the Winter Background stamp set on top of the snowy background paper before framing it all with the frame from the Zig Zag frame and tag die set. Oh and the big foam roll made it so much easier to put that frame on my card! I die cut all the images with the co-ordinating dies after colouring them with Spectrum Noir tri-blend pens. If you want to get anything from the Time For Tea Designs store don't forget you can use my code T4TAMY10 to get 10% off your order.

Cosy Winter Wishes

I can't believe we are in the Christmas week already! Even though plans have had to change I am still looking forward to Christmas this year. I hope you are all still able to enjoy the time in some way.

Have you seen this adorable Cosy Winter Stamp and Die set from the new release? There are so many cute critters in it.

I teamed this fox and the snowglobe background from the Cosy Winter stamp set up with the Winter Wonderland paper pad as that tree pattern was just crying out to be used :D The sentiment is from the Sentiment Card Pack. They just make things so easy to have some sentiment ready that I just have to cut out. Don't forget you can get a 10% discount on your Time For Tea Designs by using my code T4TAMY10

Trying out a new technique for me

 Hi everyone,

DT Amy here at the start of a brand new week. Are you ready to see the new mini release later? I am excited for you all to see it :D be sure to join Jo Live at 8 to see some great demos and get all the details.

Now onto my card for today. This was my first time trying this kind of card and I really enjoyed it. I used the adorable Caroling Critters stamps and dies. I coloured all my critters with Spectrum Noir tri-blend markers then I tore a piece of paper and used that as my mask to make the snowy mounds along the floor. I inked the rest of my paper with some distress inks and the beautiful blender brushes

The sentiments were from a mix of the caroling critters and the Warm Winter Wishes stamp set. The Warm Winter wishes stamp set will be back in stock very soon and Jo did an amazing live using it last Thursday so be sure to catch up on that if you missed it :)

If you want to get your hands on these critters or anything else from Time For Tea Designs shop don't forget you can get 10% off using my code T4TAMY10

I hope you all had a good weekend and are staying safe.

Huge hugs

I am giving thanks for you all

Hi everyone,

This is DT Amy here :) I am just moved to sunny Whitby this weekend. It has been hectic and tiring but it is done. I am so lucky that there are so many people who helped me make it possible. So my card today is a thanks card. I am so thankful for all of you for your kind words of encouragement as I haven't been able to be around here as much as I wanted to be. You all inspire me so much with all your makes.

For this card I used the super cute Woodland Critters stamp set and the beautiful Autumn Leaves stencil. First I inked through it with some distress ink and the Beautiful Blender Brushes. Then I also used the stencil to emboss the pattern on the kraft card circle. I cut the circle using the Circles Of Love nesting dies. To finish it off I used the Thanks sentiment die and as normal I couldn't resist adding in an action wobble for the foxes little head :D
This stamp set is back in stock in the Time For Tea store and you can get 10% off using my code T4TAMY10

Huge hugs to you all
