Swanning around

In case you haven't seen I have started making my own stamps for Crafty Purple Frog. I am so excited to be able to bring my drawings "to life" :D So far there are two main animal stamp sets. One is this swan from the Spread your wings set and the other is a badger from The Sett stamp set. For this card I have combined some of the little extras in the badger set with the swan. I think the swan looks ready to go to the theatre in his smart out fit. For the back ground I used some distress oxide inks along with one of the stencils that is in the Top hat layering stencil set. Rather than layer them all up I just used the dot stencil and moved it around to make a pattern I was happy with.

The sentiment is from the sentiment sett. I embossed it with white Wow! Embossing powder so it stands out well against the black card as well as adding a touch of texture.

I don't know about you but I am so looking forward to being able to get out to events like the theatre again one day. I hope you are having a good week so far and staying safe.

How are you doing friend?

I really love playing with this badger from Crafty Purple Frogs The Sett stamp set and cropping it to just his face and neck gave me this idea. The sentiment is from the Heffy Doddle Close at heart sentiment set.  For the back ground I masked off the bottom of the card and then used the Heffy Doodle Circles of life stencil, Time for Tea beautiful blender brushes and distress oxide ink to add some interest and colour to the back ground. I coloured the badger with spectrum noir tri-blend pens and put him on some foam pads to give a bit of dimension.

This was such a quick and fun card to make. I hope you are all OK and having a good week so far?

A card and something a little different

I thought I would try something a bit different with my badger stamp set from Crafty Purple Frog. I got this little wooden box and a pyrography set a while ago and felt like it was time to get it back out again.
I stamped the images onto the box and then traced them with the pyrography tool to burn the lines into the box. I am really happy with how it turned out :D
I used the stamp set caller "The sett" for the badger and the little hearts and sentiment are from the "Sentiment sett".

To go with the box I also made a card using the badger from "The sett" I coloured the badger and his champagne in with spectrum noir tri-blends. I added some glossy accents to the champagne glass so it looks shiny. For the background I used the "Top hat" layering stencil along with some distress oxides and beautiful blender brushes. For the sentiment I have used the "Sentiment sett".

2 ways to add a veil to the badger from Crafty Purple Frogs "The Sett"

This is a very quick video to show 2 ways to add a veil to the badger from Crafty Purple Frogs "The Sett" It shows both masking and where you can cut the veil if you want to make it as two separate pieces that you can then add together.
This is an example of a finished card using the cut version.

For this card I used the "Flowers & Berries" set to make a background and the "Sentiment Sett" for the congratulations sentiment which I embossed with some Wow! gold embossing powder

Thank you for looking and if you are free there will be another crafty chat session at midday today UK in the Crafty Purple Frog facebook group that you can join :D

3 tone colour map for the badger from The Sett

I have come up with a little colour map that might help you if you are trying to work out how to give this cute little badger from "The Sett" a bit more definition.

This is going to look scary but I wanted the different colours to stand out clearly from each other.

To use this you will want three tones of whatever colour you want to make the badger. A dark, mid and a light tone. For my example I used a Spectrum noir tri blend as the one blend has all 3 tones I need in it.

Once you have your colours you can follow this to give you an idea of where I put my dark, mid and light tones:

I have also done this short video showing how I colour this cute badger using this 3 tone map :D

Here is the final card I made using the coloured up badger, some of his accessories along with a sentiment and the borders from the "Sentiment Sett".

I hope you will find this useful and that you have lots of fun colouring and making :D

I am entering this card for the following challenges:
Gem of  challenge - Anything Goes
Crafters Castle - Anything Goes
Alphabet Challenge - W is for Woodland Flora or Fauna
Colour crazy - Anything colouring goes
Creative fingers - Anything Goes
As you like it - Use your favourite type of stamp (photopolymer because I like to see exactly where I am stamping :) )

Fancy a cuppa?

This is the second sneak peek of the first ever release by Crafty Purple Frog. This adorable badger is part of a stamp set called "The Sett" a bit of a pun as badgers live in setts. There is also a sentiment set to coordinate with the bargers call "Sentiment Sett" There are more accessories with this badger so you can really go to town dressing it up and having fun :D
For my background I used some clear Wow! embossing powder to do an ink resist technique on white paper. I used beautiful blender brushes and distress ink then the tiny heart that is in the Sentiment Sett with the same colour distress ink to give it a soft tone on tone feel. I coloured the badger with spectrum noir tri blends.

The new release will all be available in the shop from Friday the 19th of Feb. I hope you are enjoying these little sneak peeks :D

I am entering this card for the following challenges:
