I am feeling a bit batty

This is a little card but I have combined a few different stamp sets for this scene. The walls are from the Halloween room scene builder set. The window frame is from the Halloween room add-on. The bats are from both the frightful flutterbee Claudia and Bram stamp sets.
I used some white Wow! super fine embossing powder for the sentiment so it stands out against the black. I did masking to make this all one layer which always helps for the postage costs and coloured the scene with copics. I added some little stars in the night sky with a white pen.

I am entering this card for the following challenges:

This awesome guy is from the Scribble fox stamp set by Funky Fossil Designs. I have kept this card very simple so the fox stands out. I picked some old Stampin' Up design paper as I loved that the colours were sort of the colours the fox would be. The sentiment is also from the scribble fox stamp set and then I used a fine liner to add some more hand drawn lines around the edges.

You're the best

This oddball from Stamping Bella really makes me smile so much. There is just something about these characters faces that I can not get enough of. I coloured up this Snow white and the seven dwarves stamp with copics for this card.
I am stretching those papers again using this Jolly Holidays paper from First Edition for something other than a Christmas card again.

To finish this card off I have used the Heffy Doodle thanks word die and combined it with the "You're the best" sentiment stamp from the Heffy Doodle Teach me word stamp set. Then added a few Sprig of mistletoe Nuvo drops.

I am entering this card for the following challenges:

I'd love to sea you again

I can not see a lobster without thinking of the Friends TV show..."You're her lobster" anyone else do the same?
I just love this super cute little stamp set from Create a smile called Sending Sunshine. I just couldn't resist pairing him with the stitched circle dies from Heffy Doodle and making the card into a shaker card using the Heffy Doodle foam sheets along with the thick acetate. I could die cut the same circle out of the foam and the acetate so that there are no little gaps in the foam making my shaker super secure.

For my shaker elements I used the new sparkle mix from Heffy Doodle called Covesea

I am entering this card for the following challenges:

You don't look a day over fabulous

How adorable is this C.C. Designs cutie?? I think is is just the cutest :D She is from the Rockabilly Gals stamp set and I coloured her up with Copic markers. I used the blender pen to give her top some white dots.

The fun paper I have used with this card is actually a Christmas paper set but I really love it when you can stretch your stash and use things like papers for more than just one season. This paper is from the Jolly Holidays paper pack by First Edition

I really wanted to give it a little touch of shine so I used some double sided tape and gold foil from Stix2 to give the rectangle she is sat on a frame. Then I finished it with one of the sentiments from the Rockabilly Gals stamp set.

I am entering this card for the following challenges:

Arty Divas - Anything Goes

Handyman Henry

This great fun stamp is from C.C.Designs and is called Handyman Henry I coloured him up with spectrum noir tri-blend markers. I used up scraps of card and patterned paper that I had saved for this card. I think the yellow check paper from Time For Tea's Rainbow brights paper pack really works well with this guy :)

I hand drew some little screws onto the black card strips using a white gel pen and then used a black liner pen to edge around the patterned paper and the card blank. The sentiment comes in the stamp set.

I am entering this card for the following challenges:

You're Turtley awesome!

Seriously, how adorable are these little turtles?? I am so in love with them. They are from the Kraftin' Kimmie Turtle-y awesome! stamp set. I have coloured them up with copics before adding them to the circles that I die cut using Heffy Doodle's stitched circle dies using foam pads.

The sentiments come with the stamp set and I have heat embossed them with Wow's super fine white embossing powder. The blue strips I hand drew the stitching around them and then added the Stix2 foiled which is from the pick & mix pack. To do this I used some stix2 double sided tape to create the nice straight line. The gems and sequins are from the new Heffy Doodle Pixie Hollow Sparkles pack.

I am entering this card for the following challenges:

Kraftin' Kimmie - Colour it up
All sorts - Summer
Critter Crazy - Anything Goes with a critter

Stretch your stamps and use them with shrink plastic

This is such a fun and easy thing to do which stretches your stamps. You can use them with shrink plastic to make little charms which can then be added to jewellery or key rings etc.
To create this bracelet and earrings set I stamped the super cute Merwees set 2 onto some frosted shrink plastic using Kraftin' Kimmies hybrid ink. I let that dry before then using coloured pencils to colour the mermaids on the rough side of the shrink plastic.

Next I cut them out making a round bit above them so I could make a hole to be able to attach a jump ring (a little circle of metal wire) to so it can be fixed onto my bracelet or whatever I want.

Lastly you need to use your heat gun to shrink the plastic down. The plastic will shrivel up and fold in all kinds of ways so it is good to have a stamping block to hand the flatten it with when it has stopped shrinking. Another tip to stop the little image flying away when you blast it with a heat gun use tweezers or a pokey tool to put through the hole and hold the image in one spot on your heat mat as you heat it. Then just put the jump ring through the hole and you are good to go.

New baby cuteness

How adorable is this little Giraffe from Heffy Doodle's Two by two safari animals stamp set? As soon as I saw it I knew I needed to make it into a baby card.

I have ink blended the back ground with tattered rose, dried marigold, wild honey and rusty hinge distress oxide inks. The stitched edging around the card is thanks to the Heffy Doodle Whimsically wonky dies

For the new baby sentiment I used the Happy New Baby sentiment die to cut out some of the Man cave patterned paper and snipped off the word Happy so it just says New baby.
As the finishing touch I added in some of the yellow enamel dots from the Summer Holiday set. I love how easy these dots are to use and that there is no drying time.

Hello beautiful

This card has been made using some of the great techniques shown in the Stunningly simple watercolour techniques class from Altenew by the lovely Lydia Evans. I love the look of watercolours but hardly ever use them and in the past have not been that confident when using them so I went for this class to improve my skills and confidence. For this card I used the Altenew water colours from the watercolor essentials set. In the set you get 12 colours and a watercolour brush so you really do have everything you need other than paper and water.

There are just so many little tips and great techniques in this class. I have used the faux smooshing technique for my background. I love the freedom and fluidity this technique allows.

What you can't see very well in this picture is that I also added some Atlantis burst shimmer powder once I had added two different colours of water colour so this also sparkles beautifully.
Next I decided which stamp set I wanted to use and I went for the Wallpaper Art stamp set. I stamped the images of the flowers I wanted on to watercolour card in wow! embossing ink and then used Wow! gold embossing powder to give me the raised shiny lines. I thought about doing this with black embossing powder but wanted to try something a bit different so went for the gold and I like the contrast and shine it brings to the card.

I took my time water colouring my flower filling a petal at a time with water and dropping in two shades of red water colour making sure it was darker at the base of the petals and waiting for each petal to dry before doing any of the petals next to the wet sections.

To finish this card off I fussy cut the flowers out so I could cut along the gold embossed outline and not have any white border around them. Then I popped them up on foam pads.
Before I stuck everything together I stamped the Hello beautiful sentiment from the Amazing You stamp set onto the background I had made in the same gold Wow! embossing powder. I made sure my back panel was completely dry before I did this and used an anti static bag to stop the embossing powder from ending up anywhere that I didn't want it.
I put the whole back panel up on foam as well then added the flowers.

To finish the card off I added some Gold Coast nuvo drops which add a bit more sparkle and balance to the card.

I am entering this card for the following challenges:

Lil' patch of crafty friends - Anything Goes

Stamping Sensation - Summer flowers

Allsorts - Flora or fauna

Runway inspiration

I know that I have said this about almost every class I have done for the Altenew Educator Certification Program (AECP) but I really did LOVE this one. It has given me an idea as well to start an inspiration station so that I can share my inspiration with you all and maybe it can be something for you to be able to dip into as and when you want some inspiration so stay tuned for more on that if it sounds interesting to you :D

This class is called Runway inspired card making and is by the super talented Jennifer Rzasa. As the title suggests it is all about how to use fashion as inspiration for your cards. I have had so much fun looking through Pinterest for fashion looks to adapt into cards. I have sooooooo many ideas!

For the first one I used this stunning garment by Carolina Herrera from New York Fashion Week Spring 2020 click on the image to go to where I found this photo on livingly.com

(Spring 2020 - Source: ImaxTree)

From this I took the inspiration of the way the flowers are scattered across it and there are more clustered that then thin out. I also wanted to try and stick to the colours used of the blue, green and white.

I drew out a very rough sketch of what I wanted to do. Sorry my sketch and scribbles are very messy lol

As you can see I also added an idea for what stamp set I wanted to use. I like the way that the vintage roses stamps have a range of sizes of roses and leaves as I thought that would fit well with my inspiration.

So after deciding on my stamp set to use I picked some blue and green inks. I went for Limeade and lime for my greens and Caribbean Sky, Persian Blue and Sapphire.

Then I went about stamping a load of roses and leaves out.

As you can see I tried stamping some white flowers too using some Morning frost and Evening Gray inks but I didn't think it would fit and I also decided against doing any layers for the leaves and decided to just use the Limeade ink for the leaves as that fits better with the inspiration I am using. I then die cut everything out and I will save those ones I am not going to use in the stamp packet so they are ready for another project later.

Then I started laying the roses and leaves onto the card blank until I was happy with the way they looked.

Then I used some press and seal to pick them all up and keep them in that layout while I glued them all.

I wanted to add a sentiment without taking away from the feel of this card so I used the stitched strips of ease by Heffy Doodle to die cut a strip and then stamped a sentiment from the Inky Bouquet stamp set in Persian Blue ink so it matches the roses.

Finally for this card I wanted to add some more touches of white still so I used some Simply White nuvo drops scattered around the card which also added a nice touch of dimension.

I am so happy with the way this card turned out so I hope it has inspired you.

I am going to enter this card for the following challenges:

Crafty Gals corner - Anything Goes
Crafting happiness - Anything Goes

As you may have guessed I also have a second fashion inspired card for you today. For this next card I have combined two different pieces of clothing. The first thing that grabbed me was this fun dress from Pintelstore.com click on the image to go to the store.

I love that curve that runs down the dress and the fun colour pops so I am going to use the colours of pink, red, green, purple and yellow. Plus I will transfer that curve onto the card as well.
My second inspiration for this card comes from elle.com and these trousers that were from the Chloé Spring 2013 Ready-to-Wear show. Click the image to go to the original Pinterest pin where I found this image.

I like the way that there is texture on half of the trousers and keeping it all in the same colour. So I am going to use that on my card.
Again I did a little messy sketch of what I wanted to create.

Again I am going to be using the Vintage roses stamp and die set but this time I am picking just one of the roses and doing it in five different colour ways.

To start with I got the slimline scenery die from Heffy Doodle to create that curve on some white paper. Next I die cut a lot of the leaf clusters from the vintage rose dies out of the same white card so that I could create that tone of tone texture effect that the trousers have. I laid the die cut leaves all over the curved section and then stuck them all down and trimmed any that over hung the edges of it.
I stuck the curved section onto my 5x7 card blank then found the rose stamp that I wanted to use and I used the following inks for them:

For the sentiment I used another sentiment from the Inky Bouquet stamp set in jet black ink.

I spaced the roses down along the curve in the same way that the buttons run along the curve on the dress in my inspiration photo.

I think these two inspiration photos although they look very different from each other have really worked well together for this card.

I am going to enter this card for the following challenges:

Fab and funky - Summer colours
As you like it - I have gone feminine I do love making cute and pretty cards that tend to be more girly
Cardz4gals - Die cuts or punches

These cards have been made to go towards my Altenew Educator Certification Program (AECP) level 3 I have a few more classes to go before my final assessment which will be a class.
