One layout 2 cards

Hey Crafty Friends,

I am so excited to be a Guest Designer again for Heffy Doodles this week. This is my third post and today I am using one card layout and making two different cards. Of course using lots of yummy Heffy Doodle goodies

These are the two cards I have made using the brilliant bright and fun Summer Holiday paper pack, stamps (with their coordinating dies), sparkle mix for that touch of bling and stencils. Everything I used is from the awesome Heffy Doodle. I really love that you can get everything you need from the one brand to make great fun cards.

So let’s break these cards down. I am going to use the yellow and green Thank you fur everything card in my example but as you can see you can use the stamps and stencils you have and make your own scene. Here is what you will need:

2 different pattern papers

In my picture the 2 pieces of yellow paper are cut to 5 1/4 x 2 1/2 inches

The green paper is cut to 5 7/8 x 2 inches

I backed these on a piece of Huckleberry card stock which is a great navy blue colour I cut it 6 x 6 inches.

As you can see I also drew a line around the edge of my card and I did this before I stuck it all together by hand with a ruler. I forgot to use a white pen to line around the huckleberry card stock at the back and did this later as I just love how it finishes everything off.

I know this is a boring picture but it is hard to get a picture of white card on a white background so I have stacked these two next piece together just to show you how they will be added to the card. Don’t stick them together yet though as you want to do some stencilling on the white piece first.

The sizes for these are 4 x 3 3/4 inch for the white card and that is another piece of huckleberry card this time at 4 1/4 x 3 3/4 inches.

Now you have all your parts it is time for the fun bit! Pick your stamps and stencils

For the first card I used these Heffy Doodle supplies:

The next thing I did was coloured all the cute critters that were just calling out to me to be stamped up from the Two by Two Safari animals and that adorable lion from the Mane Squeeze stamp set. Before using my Heffy Doodle mini die cutting machine and their coordinating dies to cut around them.

Time to get stencilling! The wildside stencil gave a great pattern to make a background on the white 4 x 3 1/2 inch card. Again the edges for me had to be drawn around then I stuck this to my piece of Huckleberry card stock.

I stamped the sentiment from the Furry Friend sentiment stamps in the top left corner of my stencilled square and then it was time to assemble everything.

To add that touch of bling some sequins from the Pride sparkle mix were the perfect addition to be scattered across the card.

But as I said you can use these measurements and this idea and give it your own twist. Change up the stamps you use and the stencils. I used stencils to create a scene background for my llama card rather than just having a pattern. Plus I moved the patterned papers slightly so the pink paper was in the centre of the card.

The Heffy Doodle Supplies I used for this second card are:

New baby cuteness

How adorable is this little Giraffe from Heffy Doodle's Two by two safari animals stamp set? As soon as I saw it I knew I needed to make it into a baby card.

I have ink blended the back ground with tattered rose, dried marigold, wild honey and rusty hinge distress oxide inks. The stitched edging around the card is thanks to the Heffy Doodle Whimsically wonky dies

For the new baby sentiment I used the Happy New Baby sentiment die to cut out some of the Man cave patterned paper and snipped off the word Happy so it just says New baby.
As the finishing touch I added in some of the yellow enamel dots from the Summer Holiday set. I love how easy these dots are to use and that there is no drying time.
I am going to enter this card for the following challenges:

The Paper Players - Kards for Kids
Corrosive challenge - Anything Goes

Thank you for taking the time to look at my blog.

Huge hugs
