3 tone colour map for Crafty Purple Frogs Swan

Good morning :D
I am here again with another 3 tone colour map for you. This time it is for the swan from the "Spread your wings" stamp set. Again all you nee is 3 tones of the colour you would like to make your swan and then you can follow this little guide to get it all coloured up :)
For this example I used Spectrum noir tri-blend pens as each pen has the 3 blends in it for you making it so simple to get a great blend.

I also made a little video to show you me using the tone map to colour a black swan.

Here is an example of a card I made using my coloured swans. I mirror stamped the black swan using the mirror stamping mat so I could pair them up and used the "Written with love" back ground stamp on the circle to give it a bit of texture. The sentiment is from the "Just because" stamp set.

I hope you can find this useful. Thank you for looking.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone! This is it we are in the first proper week of this new year. It's so exciting. I always like new year as its like a clean slate. 2020 taught me a lot though, I am lucky as there are some great people in my life that really made a very tough year a lot better. That includes all of you reading this. Thank you for all of your love and support for my creating. I am so happy to be on this DT. So this card is for you as well as them :D

For this card I have used the brand new Cosy Winter stamp set and combined it with a sentiment from the Winter Wonderland Sentiment Card set.

The background is cut from a piece of the Winter Wonderland 6x6 paper and then I layered the trees from the Winter Background stamp set on top of the snowy background paper before framing it all with the frame from the Zig Zag frame and tag die set. Oh and the big foam roll made it so much easier to put that frame on my card! I die cut all the images with the co-ordinating dies after colouring them with Spectrum Noir tri-blend pens. If you want to get anything from the Time For Tea Designs store don't forget you can use my code T4TAMY10 to get 10% off your order.

Hogs and kisses

Have you seen this adorable new hogs and kisses stamp set from Time for Tea designs? It is just so perfect for a whole load of occasions and I new I wanted to team it up with their Speech bubble stamp set as well. I stamped the missing you speech bubble in grey Catherine Pooler ink all over the card and used the ink to make a perfectly colour matched layer to use for my matting and layering by inking the edges. I added a mix of nuvo glitter drops to add some sparkle and a pop of colour :D

Toucan do this

I am so in love with these toucans from Time for tea designs and I just couldn't resist doing a bit of a CAS card to show them off. I have coloured them with copics and then mounted them on foam pads so they stand out a bit more. The cloudy back ground was made with the time for tea scene it stencil and the frame is from the time for tea smile sentiment and scalloped frame die set.

The sentiment is also from the Toucan do this stamp set and then just to make it look a little bit less open I added a few Sea breeze nuvo drops.

A little toucan of my affection

I have been in love with birds for a very long time and so when I saw the Toucan do this set from Time for Teas designs I just knew I had to have it. It has taken me a while to get the chance to colour it up and get it on a card but I can't help feeling this will not be the last card they appear on :D

For this card I coloured my toucan with my new copic markers. I am completely converted to Copics I think. They are going to take me some getting used to BUT the difference in my colouring is clear to me as soon as I started to colour in some hair. The flick motion you can get with the brush nib is amazing! Any way onto the card.....

The sentiment, the branch, the hearts in the background and the pretty Toucan are from the Toucan do this stamp set so this whole card is made with just the one set.

I used the following Copics to colour the images:
Toucan body: C7, C5, C4, C1 (and C3,C1 to add shadow to the white areas)
Toucan beak and tail feathers: Y17, Y15, Y11 and B05, B02, B00
Branch: E79, E29, E35
Leaves: G29, G17, G02

I added some glossy accents to its beak so it looks all shiny. For the background I used Tumbled glass and broken china oxide inks and then added more dimension with the Wow! gold embossing powder to make the hearts pop and nuvo key lime and sunlit meadow drops. The stitch rectangle is from Heffy Doodles stitched rectangle die set.

I Love you

I think we are all missing people at the moment. Here we are in lock down and I am not able to see my boyfriend as we don't live together. Of course we are still in touch and are looking forward to when we can get back together but in the meantime I thought I would make him a card.
I was watching a live stream yesterday and someone said about a critter holding letters so that gave me the idea for this card :)

I have used the super cute Chimply the best stamps and dies for the main feature. I coloured them with Copics. I can not tell you how excited I am to have copics. I have wanted them for over 10 years and I have to say I am not disappointed. The only problem now is that I want them all.....my bank account is not so sure about that though 🤣

For the background I used Tumbled glass, Peacock feathers and blue print sketch oxide inks for the blue back ground and then used stitched rectangle dies for both the blue back ground and the rectangle to frame the chimps. For the one around the chimps I altered it to be thinner just so it worked better for the layout.

The letters that the chimps are holding are from the stitched alphabetters dies and they were very easy to put in the chimps arms as the chimply the best dies have some really good internal cut lines which cut around the arms for you. The heart is cut using the whole lotta hearts die.
And the grass is another die called grassy lass. I added a bit of mowed lawn distress oxide ink to add some dimension to the grass.

Create a smile Challenge and DT call

I quite recently stumbled upon these super cute stamps from a company called Create a smile. I knew right away that I needed quite a few of these stamps in my life. They really did what they said on the pack and made me smile. So of course I ordered some to stock at Crafty Purple Frog

Now I see they also have a DT call! How exciting is that?? I have to try out for it, so as well as my entry for the current sketch challenge I wanted to tell you all about the DT call as well so if you fall in love with them, as I have, you can try out for a spot on the team :)

Onto my card. I created this based on the great fun sketch over on the Create a Smile blog. I used  Heffy Doodles stitched circle dies to create the frame and circle that I put this little guy on. I used ink brushes and mowed lawn along with broken china distress inks to create a back ground. The grass stamp is also in the Fur Real stamp set.

The lion I stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and then coloured with the following tri-blend markers:
Mane: Gold Yellow Blend
Nose: Gold Brown Shade
Face and body: Gold Brown Blend and pale pink blend in his ears.

The sentiment is in the Fur Real stamp set and I finished the card by hand drawing the border, dots around the circle frame and then adding the sparkle with some nuvo blue lagoon glitter drops

Love you to the moon and back

I am loving making backgrounds using the ink smushing technique. For this one I covered a whole back ground for the card to make it look like outer space. I used Squeezed Lemonade, tumbled glass, salty ocean, blue print sketch and Black soot distress oxides

I also added a lot of sparkle to the entire background by flicking wink of stella all over it and then putting some yellow bird glitter gem drops and for that extra special touch I also added some Banana split glow in the dark gem drops, so when the lights go out this card still stands out.
I have combined two of the new Heffy Doodle stamp sets for this card. The cute little spaceman and space ship are from the "Spaced out" stamp set. The sentiment and Moon are from the "You're weird" stamp set.
They have been coloured with the following spectrum noir tri-blends:
Moon: Ice grey
Space ship: Orange, Citrus green and Ice grey
Spaceman: Orange, Earth brown, fair skin and Ice grey

I put the space man on a action wobble so he looks like he is really moving in space.

You make my heart saur

I feel like I am on a roll now. I had some friends over a few weeks ago to have a play making some cards and one of them wanted to mainly try and do some things with distress inks. So of course I was very happy to get them out and have fun getting inky :) I love creating but sometimes I find it helps to have a set thing to try and use or work with. It has made me want to use them much more again. For this card I used pumice stone distress ink and applied it through the Heffy Doodle stoney maloney stencil with Tim Holtz mini blenders. The cute little dino is from Heffy Doodle's Dino time set I coloured using the following spectrum noir illustrator pens: TB4,TB3,TB1
