Let the shellebration begin!

I am so ready for the warmer weather to show up now. I think this little mermaid is feeling the same. She was part of the last digi Christmas release over at Sweet November Stamps last year but she definitely works for any season.
She is part of the Griswold and Bethany digi set and because she is a digi you could grab her right now. No waiting for or paying for postage. It doesn't get much better than that :D

I have coloured her up with the following copics:
Hair: W10, W8, W6, W4
Skin: V17, E35, E13
Tail: R85, R83, R81
Clam shell: E42, E41

Shaker mermaid treasure mix

If you have not seen yet Sweet November Stamps have come out with some new shaker/ sequin mixes! This is one of them called Mermaid treasure mix. and as you can see, as well as the gorgeous sequins there are also loads of adorable little tiny mermaids in it!

To make this card I used the brilliant Sweet November Stamps digi stamp called Mutiny highseas. For the background I used a clear stamp from the Guppies stamp set.

I used the following copics to colour her and the background:

Skin: E33, E11,E00

Hair: Y28, Y26, Y13

Tail and red feather: R89,R37, R35

Top and hat: W9, W7, W5, Y08

Bottle: G28, G14, E39 (cork E84)

Water: BG01,BG000,B02,B00

Sand: E43, E42

Seaweed:G28,G09,YG03

Urchin: R24,R22,R21

Fish and starfish: YR16, Y18

Coral:E71, E70

For the actual shaker frame I used Heffy Doodle stitched square dies and extra thick acetate. Then foam tape to give the gap between the coloured in back ground and the acetate window.

The sentiment is from another of the Sweet November Stamps clear stamp sets called Lynn.

I am entering this card for the following challenges:

A place to start - Anything Goes

Crafting happiness - Anything Goes

Jan's digi stamps - Anything Goes

Sweet November Stamps Mermay 2022 release

I am so mega excited to be able to share this new Mermay release from Sweet November Stamps. There is also a great hop going on this weekend where you have the chance to win the entire new release! So be sure to hop on over to @sweetnovemberstamps and follow along the hop as you have to be in it to win it. There are more chances to win as well because if you are one of the first 5 people to make an order from the Crafty Purple Frog Shop over £30 that includes a Sweet November Stamps item then I will add in a random one of the new release stamps for free!!

This little cutie is called Calico and she is flying her flag high and proud. I coloured her with Copic markers and then have made this little scene for her.
For the scene I started by using the oval Masquerade stencil from Heffy doodle then stamped out the island scene from the new dock of the Bay stamp set before then inking roughly a sky area with Tumbled glass distress oxide and Blue print sketch for the sea. To give it a bit more texture I also used the Stormy Seas stencil from Heffy Doodle before I removed the oval stencil. After colouring in the island with copics to finish the whole card I hand drew some borders and scattered a few nuvo drops around.

I am going to enter this card for the following challenges:

Fab n' Funky - Fantasy
Try it on Tuesday - Use a stencil

Thank you for taking the time to look at my blog.

June mertot meets Lavinia stamps

There is now a whole range of Lavinia stamps in the Crafty Purple Frog shop and I thought why not try and mix them up with the super cute June Mertot from Sweet November stamps. I started by doing my background using the seaweed 2 and sea bubbles stamps with some green Altenew inks and then used a yellow altenew ink and the lightest blue ink I had to ink around the edges of the card.
The adorable June mertot digi I coloured with the following Copic markers:

Skin: E33, E21, E00
Hair: E49, E57, E55, E31
Fish friend: G17, G07, G14
Tail: YR07, YR15, Y08, Y02

I also added Spectrum noir crystal clear sparkle pen to her tail so its really sparkly :D

The big hello sentiment is from Crafters companions script words set and I embossed it in gold embossing powder so it stands out more and adds shine to the card.

I am entering this card for the following challenges:
Arty Divas - Anything goes
Crafty sentiment- Anything goes
Get creative - Fantasy

Bubbly baby Mertot

I am still so happy to be showing this next cutie as GDT for this weeks Sweet November release. This adorable bubble mertot is called May Mertot and is available in the Sweet November store now as a digi stamp so you can get her straight away. For me this bubble was crying out to be made into a shaker card.

I have coloured this cutie with the following copics:
Skin: E33, E21, E00
Hair: C9, C7, C5, C3
Tail: YR27, YR68, YR15
Toy: BG49, BG23, G00
Bubble background: BG15, G00
As normal for me I had to cover her tail in spectrum noir crystal clear sparkle pen and glossy accents.

I cut her out using Heffy Doodles stitched circles and did a couple of smaller stitched circles as extra bubbles that I then added some whatcha saying? sentiments to. For the shaker itself I cut another same sized circle from acetate and to finish it cut a thin circle frame in foam and in black card to just cover up the foam and just edge all the stitched circles/ bubbles.
For the background I used the Create a smile geometrics stamp set with the Altenew sweet dreams ink cubes to just give a bubbly background.

I am entering this card for the following challenges:
Make my Monday - For a baby
Ike's World - R is for round or dots
Crafty Creations - Anything goes
The sisterhood of crafters - Favorite technique (I love stamping/ making back grounds)
Little Red Wagon - Use backing paper or make your own. (I have made my own)
Cute card thursday - Anything goes
Southern Girls - Anything goes

GDT for Sweet November

I can not tell you how excited I am to have been asked to be GDT for the incredible Sweet November for the release this week. I have had so much fun with the 2 new little mer tots. For this first card I have used the adorable June Mertot.
I decided to decoupage her as that is something I have not done with an image in ages and I love the way it make her look more 3D. I coloured her with my copics using the following colours:
Skin: E33, E21, E00 + a touch of R81
Hair: V06, R85, R81
Tail: G07, G14, YG03
Fish: Y38, Y02, Y000
As normal for me I had to cover her tail in spectrum noir crystal clear sparkle pen and glossy accents.

I made the background with distress oxide inks (Seedless preserves, Worn lipstick, Squeezed Lemonade) I then flicked some water over my inking and then sprayed some wilted violet distress oxide spray. The Dream big shadow sentiment is from time for tea and the smaller sentiment is from an old Stampin' up! stamp set.

I am entering this card for the following challenges:
Allsorts _ Magical worlds
Get creative - Fantasy
Simon Says Stamp - Make your own background

The look out

I am so glad I signed up to the Sweet November email list and this month this amazingly beautiful digi was a freebie just for being signed up. Don't worry as you can still grab her she is called the Look out and while you are there why not sign up so you can get whatever the next freebie is :D

I coloured her with the following copic markers:
Skin: E33, E21, E00
Tail: V06, R85, R81
Hair: Y38, Y17, Y06, Y02
Rock: W5, W3, W1
Water: B00, B000

Of course I couldn't just leave the tail without adding some spectrum noir crystal clear sparkle pen and then covering it with glossy accents :)

I had great fun ink smooshing the background with Seedless preserves, Wilted Violet and dusty concord distress oxide. I haven't done any ink smooshing in ages and had so much fun I did a few backgrounds so expect to see more :D
The sentiment is from the Heffy doodle oceans of love set and the layered banner die is also from Heffy doodle in the tag along die set. To finish it all off I used a range of nuvo drops to create some more sparkle and shine around her.

I am entering this card for the following challenges:
Colour crazy challenge - Any thing goes
Creative fingers - Anything goes
Your next stamp - sparkle and shine
As you like it - Favorite embelishment (nuvo drops because they are so versatile and add great sparkle and shine)

Hello beautiful

I had a lot of fun getting inky making this card. I started by inking the background with wilted violet, mermaid lagoon and tumbled glass distress oxides and then tried out my distress oxide sprays in fossilized amber and wilted violet just to add some more interest to the back ground.
The great big hello sentiment is from Crafters companions script words set and I embossed it in gold embossing powder so it adds some more shine to the card.
Then we go onto the main event which is another stunning mermaid digi from the incredible Sweet november stamps. She is called Sparkle moon drifter and I just love the shape of her and how her hair flows. She was so much fun to colour with my spectrum noir tri-blends and then I couldn't resist adding a mix of nuvo drops to give her tail sparkle and shine.

I am entering this card for the following challenges:
Time out challenge - Free (what cuold be more free than swimming in the ocean :) )
Colour crazy challenge - Any colouring goes
Creative fingers - Anything goes
Your next Stamp - Sparkle and shine
Patties creations - Anything goes
